Abstract

Among various effects arising from urbanization, special interest occurs in the pendular movement or pendularity, a phenomenon related to the increasing people mobility, faced to the current pastoral problem of faithfuls that choose to attend a parish other than designated by law in virtue of their domicile, this guarantees a double novelty in the ecclesial sphere: the pendular faithful and the elective parish. In reason of the problems which arise and the of territorial and personal criteria limitations in responding to this new pastoral phenomenon, a proposal for change is arbitrated: by an objective personal reason the faithful may be assigned to the parish he has elected. For this, it’s fundamental the promulgation of a particular law to regulate this matter at the diocesan level, as well as the implementation of an itinerary to investigate this personal reason and the ultimate intention resulting from the faithful choice, which will allow correct decision making by the competent authority.
